Opening to the public next month, 11 Acre Farm is a working farm planned around permaculture farming principles and situated on beautifully landscaped grounds.

We are a family business with strong values and a deep respect for the important role food plays in family, community, and our environment. Our brand-new farm-house cafe kitchen opens in July with a separate restaurant, function venue, gourmet farm shop and on-site micro-brewery to follow.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence and our collaborative work environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant to join our team and support our financial and administrative functions.

Job Description:

As a Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant at 11 Acre Farm, you will be responsible for maintaining our financial records, handling daily administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. Your role will include managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, preparing financial reports, and providing general administrative support to our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

  • Process payroll and manage employee benefits administration.

  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure timely payment of invoices.

  • Prepare and submit financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Monitor and manage cash flow, budgets, and financial planning.

  • Assist with tax preparation and compliance with financial regulations.

  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.

  • Coordinate office operations and procedures, including managing supplies and equipment.

  • Assist with HR functions, including onboarding new employees and maintaining employee records.

  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and vendors as needed.

  • Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and MS Office Suite.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Experience in office administration or support is a plus.

  • Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
