Our story
The 11 Acre Farm story, so far.
Our Family's Dream
11 Acre Farm began with the idea that food, farming, nature and community are better experienced together.
What was once a small family property has gradually evolved into a working farm, restaurant and gathering place where people can reconnect with the land and each other.
Today, visitors come to enjoy a meal at The Good Paddock, meet the animals, explore the gardens, watch produce being harvested and spend time outdoors with family and friends.
But beneath these experiences sits a larger vision. We believe that healthy communities are built through connection. Connection to food, to nature, to learning and to one another.
Rather than separating these things into different places, 11 Acre Farm exists to brings them together within a single landscape.
A Living Landscape
11 Acre Farm is not a traditional farm, a restaurant, a playground or a classroom. It is a living landscape where each element supports the others.
The market gardens produce food.
The animals contribute to the health of the land.
The waterways and wildlife corridors provide habitat and biodiversity.
The restaurant celebrates seasonal produce and brings people together around the table.
Our future childcare centre, Little Grots Farm Kindy, will help children develop a lifelong connection to nature through play, curiosity and exploration.
Together, these elements create a place where learning happens naturally through participation and experience.
Working With Nature
Our approach is guided by the belief that productive landscapes and healthy ecosystems can coexist.
Throughout the farm we seek to demonstrate practical ways of growing food, caring for animals, improving soil health, supporting biodiversity and creating spaces that people genuinely enjoy spending time in.
We are continually learning, evolving and refining the farm. Like nature itself, the farm is never truly finished.
Cubby Lane
Built from a collection of pre-loved cubby houses, Cubby Lane is a miniature village designed for imaginative play. Complete with a café, classroom, fire station, doctor's surgery and more, it gives children the freedom to invent, explore and create their own adventures.
Simple, nostalgic and full of character, it's a place where children can roam, play and let their imaginations run wild. While the kids are busy creating their own world, parents can relax, connect and enjoy good food in the beautiful surrounds of the farm.
More Than A Destination
For us, success is not measured by how many people visit. It is measured by the connections people leave with.
A family sharing a meal outdoors.
A child discovering where food comes from.
A visitor noticing a bird, insect or plant they may have otherwise overlooked.
These small moments create a deeper understanding of the world around us.
Four Legged Family
No visit to 11 Acre Farm is complete without meeting our animal residents. The farm is filled with pigs, donkeys, goats, alpacas, sheep, ducks, peafowl, guinea pigs, rabbits, and many more. Beyond bringing joy to visitors, our animals help tell the story of farming, food production and the important role animals play within healthy landscapes. For many children, they're often the highlight of the day.
Looking Ahead
The next chapter of 11 Acre Farm will continue to build on what already exists.
We are focused on strengthening the connection between food production, hospitality, education, ecology and community while creating meaningful experiences for people of all ages.
Our goal is to cultivate a place where people can gather, learn, grow and belong.
