Our story

The 11 Acre Farm story, so far.

Built on Family, Community, and Sustainability
Hello! We’d love to share a little about who we are and how 11 Acre Farm came to be.
We are the Erceg family—born and raised in the local area. After 30 years in our family business, it was time for a new chapter. In 2020, we stumbled upon this run-down property and saw its potential. From the very beginning, we knew that whatever we created had to reflect our core family values:
- Quality time
- Nature and sustainability
- Wholesome food
- Community connection
- Play and creativity

The Vision
-
From these values, 11 Acre Farm was born:
- A permaculture-inspired farm offering hands-on workshops
- A farm kindy where children learn through nature, real grass underfoot, and friendly farm animals by their side
- A paddock-to-plate café serving great coffee and wholesome food in a space where kids can be kids
- A working example of a truly sustainable business

Transforming the Past into the Future
When we purchased the property, it had an old house, a hay shed, and stables. We embraced the character of these existing buildings, upcycling them into something special:
- The old house became Little Grots Farm Kindy
- The hay shed became Cubby Café
- The stables will soon be The Good Paddock Restaurant & Brewery

Cubby Lane - a Village for Imaginative Play
We didn’t want a standard playground. Instead, we rescued old cubby houses from Marketplace and turned them into a little town where kids can role-play the day away. Each cubby is named after the family that originally owned it and includes:
- A café, hair salon, doctor’s surgery, classroom, fire station, and more
- A disco and a stage for little performers
- A place where imagination runs wild while parents enjoy their meal

Sustainability at Every Turn
At 11 Acre Farm, almost everything you see has been rescued and repurposed. From the old truck that now serves as the live music stage to the fencing, garden ornaments, furniture, and even landscaping rocks—it’s all been given a second life.

Four Legged Family
The farm wouldn’t be complete without our menagerie of over 300 animals. Donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, peacocks, guinea fowl, quails, bunnies, bees, and ducks all contribute to farm life—helping with produce while bringing joy to visitors.

Growing, Learning and Sharing
We believe in paddock-to-plate dining and want to share our knowledge through workshops on:
- Permaculture, syntropic agroforestry and regenerative farming
- Chicken keeping and composting
- Fermentation, pickling and cheese making
We are lovers of paddock to plate style dining. We wanted to take what we’d learned about the principles of permaculture and apply it here to provide people of Perth with a farm experience they don’t have to travel hours to get to.
